How the lab works
Helivo is a reading room for public biology data with a notebook and a public pinboard attached. Here is what happens at each step, what is real today and what is still a plan.
Find
Search UniProtKB, the Protein Data Bank or Ensembl from one box, or paste an id. Our server asks the public service, caches the answer and hands back one tidy entry.
Look
Every entry shows its provenance first, then charts made from its sequence and, for structures, a 3D backbone you can turn.
Keep
Save entries, write notes that cite them, list open questions. All of it stays in your browser and exports as JSON.
Ask
The assistant drafts a short summary from the entries you pick, citing each one and listing its limits. You check it before it goes anywhere.
Pin
When a note is ready, its fingerprint and source ids are anchored on Robinhood Chain by your wallet. A second wallet can co-sign with a verdict.
Sources and licences
- UniProtKB — protein sequences and annotation. Licence: CC BY 4.0.
- RCSB Protein Data Bank — experimentally determined 3d structures. Licence: CC0 1.0 (public domain).
- Ensembl — genes, transcripts and genome sequence. Licence: Open data, no restrictions on use.
Helivo is not affiliated with these services. Reads are keyless, cached on our server for minutes to hours, and limited per visitor so the public services are not flooded. When a service is busy, the last good copy is shown with its time.
What the numbers mean
Mass is the sum of average residue masses plus one water. Hydropathy uses the Kyte–Doolittle scale averaged over a window you choose. GC content counts G and C over all known bases. These are reading aids for learning and research; they are computed by our code and labelled so.
The provenance book
HelivoProvenanceBook is a small contract on Robinhood Chain. It has no owner, no admin, no fee and no upgrade path, and it never holds funds. anchor(noteHash, title, sources) records a finding; review(id, verdict, commentHash) lets any other wallet co-sign once. Status: live at 0x2f21659af5bdabbe849fa5c0323021ed28c5cc4b.
Planned, not live

Not medical advice
Nothing on Helivo is medical, clinical or health advice, and nothing here should guide a decision about anyone's health. The site shows what public research records say and how to read them. Start with the explorer or the lab tour.
Questions
Is Helivo medical advice?
No. Helivo reads public research databases and draws what they contain. It does not diagnose, treat or recommend anything for any person, and it makes no health claims. Talk to a qualified professional about anything that concerns your health.
Where does the data come from?
Proteins come from UniProtKB (CC BY 4.0), structures from the RCSB PDB archive (CC0) and genes from Ensembl (open data). Every entry page names the source, the entry id, its version or release, the date and the licence, with a link to the original record.
Are the charts and numbers from the source?
The facts table is copied from the source. Composition, mass, hydropathy and GC content are computed by this site from the sequence the source returned, and the page says so. The 3D view is a simplified C-alpha trace, not the full atomic model.
What does the AI Research Assistant see?
Only the entries you select, fetched by our server from the public sources, plus your question. Every sentence it returns must cite one of those entries or it is removed. Its output is labelled as a draft for you to check. If the site has no AI key configured, the built-in summary still works.
Where are my notes stored?
In your browser's local storage. Nothing in the workspace is sent to a server. Export a JSON file to back it up or move it to another device.
What goes on chain when I anchor a finding?
The keccak-256 fingerprint of your note's canonical JSON, a short title and the list of source ids it cites. The note text stays with you. Anyone holding the same JSON can recompute the fingerprint on the verify page.
What does a co-sign prove?
That a second wallet, different from the author's, signed a verdict about the finding at a given block. It does not prove who holds that wallet or that the finding is correct. Treat co-signs as signals and read the entries yourself.
Do I need the token to use the site?
No. Search, charts, the 3D viewer, the workspace, the assistant and the review board all work without $HELIVO. Anchoring or co-signing needs a little ETH on Robinhood Chain for gas.
Where can I get $HELIVO?
$HELIVO launches on the Pons launchpad on Robinhood Chain. The contract address is published on the token page at launch.
What are the risks?
Public databases can be revised, so an old finding may cite an entry that has since changed; the provenance block shows which version you read. The contract has no owner and cannot be changed or paused, so a mistake in it cannot be patched. $HELIVO carries no promise of value and can go to zero.
